How to Make Your Own Cupcake Stand

Using this method you can make any laser printed image into a transparent one to use in your art! *I have only tried this with a laser printer so far!



Find the image you would like to transfer, and edit it so it is the size, color, and shape you want. You can make black and white images, the white will be completely clear, or you can make color images which will be transparent but still hold its color. Print out on plain paper or cardstock (cardstock will take longer to soak) with a LASER printer. Roughly cut out the image to prepare for the transfer.

DIY - wax luminaries

Water Ballon Luminaries
Aren`t these Luminaries gergeous? They`re actually made using way and balloo

1. Fill a water balloon with tepid water.

2. Melt your wax. Optimum working temperature for this project is 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Try to maintain this temperature for your wax while working by keeping it on a double boile

3. Slowly dip your balloon into the wax to just below the water level in the balloon. Warning: Do not dip the balloon into the wax past the water level. This could cause the balloon to pop.

4. Hold the balloon in the wax for a few seconds, and then slowly lift it out of the wax. Dip the balloon a few more times, allowing some time between dips to let the wax cool.

5. While it is still quite warm, carefully set the balloon down onto a piece of paper or a cookie sheet, making sure it is level. This will create a flat bottom for the luminary.

6. Dip your balloon a few more times until it is the desired thickness. A good target thickness is 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch

7. Set the balloon on the paper or cookie sheet again and let it cool

8. When the wax is completely cooled, hold the balloon over a sink or bucket, facing away from you. Carefully pop the balloon with a skewer or knife and let the water drain out. Throw away the balloon shards.

9. To level the top of the luminary, heat a cookie sheet on the stove and place the luminary top-down onto the hot sheet and carefully melt the edges until it is level.

10. Place a tea light or votive inside the luminary and burn on a candle holder in a dark area

A Sweet Thank You Favor

I saw this lovely idea on the blog from Mrs. Eggplant
She told the hotel manager that they were planning on having a candy buffet,
she mentiones that in past weddings that she had coordinates, candy buffets were often overlooked and untouched. This was mainly due to the fact that our reception room was shaped in the form of an “L,” so a display that was visible to one side of the room would not be visible to the other. So she decided to create a favor for each table setting that would let her guests know they had a mountain of sweets treats for them.

DIY - Veil, Hair Flower, Birdcage Veil

Finding the perfect accessory for your hair is tres important when it comes to completing your wedding, for the bride, the bridesmaids or the guests


Fabric: Tulle (be creative and select different sizes and textures to create contrast)
Beads/Gems (from your local bead shop.
Rhinestones, crystals, clear beads add sparkle and a bit of elegance to your handmade creation)Comb (Any beauty store or Target should have this)
Feathers (try craft stores, like Michaels)
White thread, sewing needle and fabric glue that dries clear

Step 1: Gather the materials and lay them out. You’ll want to cut the tulle in a few different sizes. This way you can play to see what combinations you like best

Step 2: Once you have the combination you like, gather the tulle in a bunch on the comb so you can stitch the two parts together. Make sure it’s stitched tight. Play with the tulle to make sure it’s falling nicely across your face.

Step 3: Now you can begin to add gems and feathers. You’ll want to add a cluster of gems on top of the comb to hide your stitching. Then add rhinestones and feathers to your liking.

Step 4: Tuck the comb into your hair and drape tulle in front of your face…You’re done!”

If you ar not the bride, give the tulle away, you can also use a pretty flower
or make it in a different color!!!

DIY - Soaps, Giveaway

I love this beautiful giveawy!!!

Here’s what you need for the project:
Soap base (available at Michaels). We used the goat milk base for ours
Soap molds (also from Michaels http://www.michaels.com/art/online/home)

Herbs, oats, tea, essential oil, anything you want to use to flavor your soap.
We decided to make three flavors:
Lavendar Oatmeal (fresh lavender flowers, lavender essential oil, oats)

Chai Tea (steeped tea for color and scent, plus dry loose tea for a little texture)

Chamomile Calendula (dried chamomile and calendula flowers)

Here’s what you do:
1. Melt soap base (stirring often over medium heat)
2. Add “seasonings”

3. Mix well and long enough for flavors to distribute evenly

4. Pour liquid soap into molds
5. Uncork champagne and enjoy the afternoon waiting for your soaps to set!


Once your soaps have set (overnight, or we found you can refrigerate them for a few hours), you have to package them in maximum cuteness. We wrapped ours in unbleached parchment paper (in the same way you’d wrap a gift), then added a band of vintage wallpaper for decoration. We made tags using a grocery bag and a 1 1/2 inch tag punch, and tied them on with baker’s twine
